We are looking for
individuals with certain qualities. We will gladly accept someone that has no
prior experience in our industry with the right attitude and
demeanor, over someone who already has chauffeur experience
but lacks the personality traits that we feel are crucial.
We have compiled below some basic
characteristics that we are looking for.
Appearance
A sharp, well dressed individual creates a positive
first impression. Our required attire (for a man) is a dark business suit,
long sleeved white shirt, conservative tie, and black dress shoes. An
equivalent styled pantsuit is appropriate for a woman. Clothing must always
be clean and neatly pressed. We always wear our coats when driving and when
working with clients.
For men, hair must be conservatively styled and neatly
trimmed. Facial hair should be kept to a minimum, and also neatly trimmed.
Visible tattoos and piercings must be covered or removed. Pony tails and
unnatural hair coloring is never allowed.
Demeanor
We deal with a wide variety of clients under a range
of circumstances. We transfer busy corporate CEO's to and from LAX, we
assist families on funerals with care and compassion, we help to make
weddings the day they have always dreamed of, and we provide special touches
that make a birthday or anniversary dinner something that they will always
remember. It is the professionalism of our staff that separates us from
other companies.
Our associates must be able to maintain a professional
demeanor regardless of the circumstances. If the president of a company want
to chat on the way to the airport, we need to be able to engage him. If he
is busy, we need to know when to be quiet and not interfere. A chauffeur may
need to be quietly respectful on a funeral, while friendly and outgoing on
an evening celebration.
Skills
Applicants must be able to map out the most efficient
route to a destination or series of destinations, taking into account the
time of day, traffic flow, and any other factors that may impact the
routing. Applicants will need to be comfortable and proficient in looking up
routes and addresses in Thomas Guide map books, and to utilize online
mapping and satellite imaging as a tool to assist with route planning.
Chauffeurs cannot rely solely on internet based mapping services to
determine routing, as they are prone to errors and do not allow for changes
to routing while en route.
Time management is equally important. Chauffeurs must
allow adequate time to arrive at the vehicle warehouse, make any last minute
preparations needed for the vehicle, check online for traffic along the
route, and arrive 15 minutes ahead of schedule at the first assigned pick up
location. If you are the type of individual that is always early to every
function, you will do fine. If you always seem to be running behind, this
is not the right opportunity for you.
At the conclusion of each run, the vehicle is
thoroughly cleaned by the chauffeur. All exterior and interior surfaces are
wiped down with commercial detailing products, the vehicle interior is
vacuumed, and the bar (in limousines) is restocked.
Driving History
A good DMV record is required. Commercial insurance is
far more restrictive than an individual's automobile insurance, and our
provider will review all applicants for acceptability. Each individual's
driving history is reviewed on a case by case basis, so there is no single
rule as to who is accepted or denied. While one or two infractions
(depending on their nature) would not usually disqualify an individual, more
severe infractions or a collision may preclude an applicant from acceptance.
Convictions involving driving under the influence will disqualify a
candidate from consideration.
While not required for the interview process,
applicants will need to obtain an H6 printout (10 year driving record) from
the DMV before they can be accepted for employment. For insurance
purposes, please note that the minimum age for applicants is 25 years.
Scheduling
The position is flexible hours, with the volume of
work assigned dependent on the applicant's availability. Applicants will
need to be able to work weekends and most mornings during the week.
Location
Due to the nature of our business, employees are
sometimes contacted to work with little advance notice. For this reason,
applicants should reside in the Anaheim / Fullerton / Santa Ana
area. The further away an employee lives from our facility, the greater the
chance that traffic or other unforeseen circumstances could jeopardize your
ability to arrive at our facility on time. If you do not get to work on
time, you will not be able to arrive at your assigned destination on time.
Punctuality is mandatory, so we are not able to consider candidates who
reside in outlying areas. If you reside within 10 to 15 minutes of the 91 /
57 Freeway interchange, that would be ideal.
Communication
Our business can be very fast paced at times, and work
assignments are constantly being added and updated. We need to be able to
contact you at any time by phone. A reliable cell phone and the ability to
keep it charged at all times is a must.
Work assignments for the next day are normally
dispatched to our employees via e-mail. A computer with internet access and
a printer would be needed.
Transportation
Applicants need to have access to reliable
transportation to and from our facility. If you do not have exclusive use of
a vehicle (such as if you share a car with another family member), this will
greatly limit the amount of work that can be assigned.
Drug-Free Work Environment
We maintain a drug-free work environment. As a
commercial carrier, applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment
drug test upon acceptance, and will be subject to random drug testing while
employed. If you use illegal drugs, do not apply.
In summation, applicants must
possess all of the following:
- A Sharp Appearance
- Excellent Communication Skills and
a Positive, Professional Demeanor
- Accurate and Efficient Mapping
Skills
- A Good Driving History, And 25
Years Of Age Or Older
- Flexible Availability
- Live in the Anaheim /
Fullerton / Santa Ana Area
- A Reliable Cell Phone, And
A Computer With Internet Access
- Reliable Personal Transportation
- Be Able To Pass Pre-Employment And Random Drug Testing
We are sorry that we cannot consider applicants who
are unable to meet the above requirements. |
